Christmas Day 2010

Christmas Day

I woke to rain and thought yup this is right I feel right at home as if I was in Ohio and it was a rainy ice storm.
After waking around 9:30 Dan and I deiced we would make a great Christmas breakfast fest. I made the best pancakes ever they were better the Schmuckers if any one ever day them you know how great they are.
We made pancake, some apple cinnamon, breakfast sausage, and eggs it was great.
After stuffing ourselves full we started wrapping the Christmas gifts for the elderly we used a L.A. Times that Chris had brought.
After wrapping I dressed in the traditional Uganda Gomez. Basically it lots of fabric and a huge belt with pointy shoulders and lots of fabric.
We then headed down to the auditorium, there were five mungzus with lots of bags filled with toys and bags filled with balloons we called it the muguzun parade.

We set up with gifts under the tree and started to serve the children chicken, matooke, rice, Irish potatoes, beef, pork, pineapple and cabbage. After serving we watched all the children stuff their little faces with tons of food as if they could not wait for seconds.
After food we cut the cakes Dulcie, Chris and Dan spent hours making the day before we handed out the cake and they all huge smiles on their faces cause the cake was so moist and sugary.
Then we started to pass out gifts the elderly first, they were all so happy to open their gifts they could not stop saying thank you even before they opened them
We then passed out all the bags we personally stuffed and had made for them.
Then all hell broke out children were blowing bubbles everywhere balloons all over the place, little children immediately started to color on the new book we bought, soccer balls being kicked everywhere. Then the nuns started playing with all the toys they absolutely loved the space balls we bought Dulcie and I showed them how they work I jumped on the space ball Gomez and all and bounced all around the children as they giggled and laughed uncontrollably. Then the nuns decieded they would give it a try. Thank God Dan was video tapping the nuns bounce up and down on the space balls like little children.
After the stomached aching laughing from the nuns we danced and danced and played with the children . Until dark.

Thanks again to Kathy and Maria for all their hard work.
